However, there was a twist—he was watching Cats whilst under the influence of marijuana. For nearly two hours, the world received updates as to what Rogen’s first experience with the musical was practically scene by scene.

Cats is a musical fantasy film released in late 2019. It is based on A.L. Webber’s stage musical of the same name, which was in turn based on T.S. Eliot’s poetry collection Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats.

The film is considered a commercial failure for not reaching its estimated $100 million budget in sales. Many have come to criticize it for the poor CG work, the plot, and the overall tone, calling it one of the worst films of 2019.
