Kirsten Dunst Wants More Awards: ‘Ive Never Been Nominated For Anything’ – Perez Hilton

Kirsten Dunst has been one of the most recognizable faces in Hollywood for the past few decades, yet she still feels a bit of melancholia about her career.

Sure, she’s starred in unforgettable films, esteemed cult classics, and critically praised TV shows. However, the 37-year-old fact can’t help but be disappointed by the fact she’s “never been nominated” for her work — save for a couple of Golden Globe nods.

The confession came during an interview with SiriusXM’s In Depth With Larry Flick. When host Larry Flick asked the Fargo star about the first time she felt the “power” of her storytelling, she admitted:

“You know what’s so weird? I have never felt that power.”

Uh… say what?? Girl, you’re Kirsten Dunst!

After exploring this powerless feeling some more, Dunst went on to note how a lot of her most adored films were critically panned when they first came out. She explained:

“I’ve also had a lot of disappointment. Like, the things that people like. I’m like, ‘Well, remember when Marie Antoinette — y’all panned it? And now you all love it. Remember Drop Dead Gorgeous? Panned and now you all love it. It’s like interesting for me. I feel like a lot of things I do people like later.”

Well… better late than never, right?

Aside from the public’s delayed appreciation of her films, the actress also expressed disappointment over the apparent lack of peer recognition she’s received over the years.

The two-time Golden Globe nominee continued:

“I’ve never been recognized in my industry. I’ve never been nominated for anything. Maybe, like, twice for Golden Globes when I was little and one for Fargo. But, like, I always feel like nobody — I don’t know.”

“Nobody”!? We repeat again: gurl, you’re Kirsten F**king Dunst!

But, alas, the lack of awards has been weighing on the industry vet. Racking her brain over what she had done to deserve such a cruel fate, the actress mused:

“Maybe they think I’m just the girl from Bring It On? I don’t know… I just feel like, ‘What did I do?’ I’m so chill, maybe I don’t play the game enough? I don’t know… I do everything I’m supposed to. It’s not like I’m rude or not doing publicity or anything… Sometimes you’re like, ‘Mmm, it’d be nice to be recognized by your peers.’”

Awww… hopefully she channels this raw emotion into her next role.

Awards season is every year, KD — don’t lose hope yet!
